Pre-Conception Consultation
Next Steps after your Pre- conception Consultation
From your first conversation to every step that follows, we focus on clarity, comfort, and guidance that truly supports you throughout your fertility journey.
Consultation → Basic testing plan
After the consult, you’ll be given a clear testing checklist based on your age, cycle pattern, history, and how soon you want to start trying.
- Basic blood work + hormones (as needed),
- An ultrasound scan if advised, and
- Semen analysis if you’re trying as a couple.
Usually Includes
Reports reviewed → identify what needs improvement
Once results are in, the doctor maps your “fertility readiness” and spots the few key markers that need attention—rather than treating everything at once.
Examples of what this step covers:
- Ovulation status, hormone balance, thyroid/sugar control, vitamin/iron levels, egg reserve indicators (if relevant), uterus health, and sperm parameters.
- You’ll leave with a short list
- What looks normal
- What needs improvement
- What needs follow-up or repeat testing
Try naturally → with a timing and tracking method
If the basics look okay, the next step is usually trying naturally for a defined window (often 1–3 cycles depending on the profile).
This isn’t “just try”:
Track cycles
Confirm fertile window (OPKs / symptoms / scan tracking if needed)
Guidance on timing and frequency
What to avoid / what to continue during this phase
Action steps → targeted support + follow-up
If conception doesn’t happen in the planned window, or if reports show a gap, you move to actionable steps that match the exact issue.
This can include:
Supplements + lifestyle changes with clear targets
Medicines to support ovulation or hormone balance (if required)
Further evaluation (tubes/uterus checks, repeat or advanced tests)
A follow-up visit to review progress and decide the next step
The goal is simple: fix what’s limiting results, and move forward step-by-step—without jumping to procedures too early.

We were scared we would need IVF, but the team guided us gently and suggested a simpler treatment that worked. It felt like they truly cared about us, not just the procedure.

Questions You Might Be Wondering About.
What is a pre-conception consultation?
It’s a planning visit to check your fertility readiness and overall health before trying for a baby. You’ll leave with a clear action plan—what to test, what to improve, and when to start trying.
Who should boak this consultation?
Anyone planning pregnancy in the next 3–12 months, especially if you have irregular cycles, PCOS/thyroid concerns, prior miscarriage, known health conditions, or you’ve been trying already.
When is the best time to do it?
Ideally 2–3 months before you start trying. If you’re already trying, you can still do it anytime—so you don’t lose cycles without clarity.
Do I need to come on a specific day of my cycle?
Not always. Some tests depend on cycle day, so the clinic will guide you. If you’re unsure, come anytime—your plan can be scheduled from there.
What should I bring to the appointment?
Past reports (blood tests, scans), a list of medications/supplements, period tracking details (last 3 months if possible), and any prior pregnancy or treatment history.
